Parsley
I cook. Quite a lot actually. I often buy herbs; basil, dill, lime leaves, curry leaves, coriander etc.
The other day I purchased some parsley because I thought I would make some spaghetti verde (sometimes called aglio e oilio). http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/Spaghetti-Aglio-e-Olio-L621.html
At the checkout, a young man and practicing acnephile was learning his trade. He was a trainee checkout-type-person and he consciously and courteously swiping my billables through at magic beeping machine all supermarkets now have. When it came to my small bunch of parsley, he picked it up, buried his nose in it, took a deep sniff and smiled at me quizzically.
The kid at the checkout sniffed my parsley. Is there no end to this madness?

You get great parsley in Teheran, Iran. I know what i am talking about - coz i lived there 7 years during Khomeini's time...didn't get into anybody's hair though...not worth it- coz they throw away the keys!!
